Bark of Dog 2 is a new and improved version of the plugin that started it all. Now with 3 different modes, it’s even better than before. When 2 dogs love each other… more dogs just seem to come out of nowhere. And that’s what Bark of Dog 2 is. Now with 2 different modes (and a “combo” mode) you have more options on ways to clean up your low end. Classic mode continues the legacy of version 1. The original Bark of Dog became a staple plugin in studios around the world for a good reason. It’s easy to use and it works. In version 2, you get the same controls, but they are a little more intuitive.

New Passive Mode
The passive mode is almost the complete opposite from Classic mode. In fact, it is designed to work like a the simultaneous boost and attenuation of a famous passive EQ. Essentially, it lets you boost your low end without getting muddy. It’s an awesome trick, and Bark of Dog 2 makes it so you can do it with one simple knob turn.

Combo Mode
This third mode is actually just the first two modes put together. Really what it does is lets you boost the low end like you would in passive mode, but cuts out some of the super low stuff so you don’t blow your speakers. It basically lets you push it harder than you would normally be able to. I thought it was a nice touch, so I put it in.

Getting the best results

Hats is a drum synthesizer plugin dedicated to hi hats and cymbals sounds. It features two independent sources: synthesized noise and sample section. Instead of generic white or pink noise, the noise section features 6 square wave oscillators with different pitches and phases, like the famous TR808. The result is a noise sound with a controllable metallic character. The factory bank comes with more than 50 samples, ranging from rare analog drum machines to real acoustic hi hats and cymbals. Some of the samples were also processed with a classic Aphex Aural Exciter and recorded to tape with a vintage Revox B77 MkII.

Both sources can then be processed with 4 effects: Ring Modulator, Bit Crusher, Filter, and Reverb. The effects can also be arranged in any order with a simple drag and drop. The filter section features an HighPass and BandPass in series; both filters are 12dB/oct state variable filters with zero delay feedback.

EARebound v1.0.2 WiN MAC

EARebound is a full-featured multi-delay plug-in which has been designed to meet a specific need : to quickly create rhythm lines from percussive sounds recorded in various environments (natural, urban, industrial, …). Recording these sounds, processing them through (carefully selected) effects in order to obtain multiple versions of them, loading and mapping them in a sampler, placing them in space, … takes a considerable amount of time and can be an obstacle to spontaneous creativity. In addition, even if we are satisfied with the results after hours of hard work, this rhythmic grail cannot be easily modified, as we would like, during live situations.

A first prototype of this thing was then born in 2011, offering 16 steps (the input + 15 delay lines) being processed by a dedicated set of shaping and positioning tools. The workflow was already similar to the one provided by a good old drum machine and it was enough to create rhythm lines from any kind of recorded sounds within a couple of minutes… lots of fun and saved time!

Great… but considering that not everyone shares my pathological obsession for environmental percussive sounds, it would have been a shame to keep EARebound as-is because it obviously has the potential to evolve into a more universal, easy to use and definitely ultra-creative product…

Apart from any situation where a solid delay unit is needed, EARebound is now particularly useful when it comes to create rhythm from any material or instantly enhance an existing audio loop.

The ANALOG87 series features 6 plugins.

These have been designed and fine tuned “by human ears” and except for PR-EQUA87, you will not get a lot of visual feedback from them… just good sound.  They have been thought with this idea in mind : “your ears deserve trust” Not too long ago, we were listening to our mixes with our eyes closed, tyring to get the most information from our trained ears. We were not afraid of digital artifacts. No lights were blinking telling us how bad our equalization was and we were talking about how warm, smooth, punchy was the music and not how red, blue, and yellow it could be. Of course as time progressed, our computers provided visual feedback, making it easier for us to find mistakes that would have previously taken 10 hours of repeated listening to detect.

As musicians, we started to use both our eyes and ears to mix music, discovering how you interact with an effect can be almost as important as how it sounds.
All of this is very subjective, though.

During the development of the ANALOG87 series of plug-ins, sound has been the top priority with the interface designed around the workflow of an old school engineer.

Of course we have applied some contemporary updates making them much easier to use and saving you the inconvenience of climbing behind a console to plug cables into the back of a sidechain compressor.

If you want a taste of the sound produced by the ANALOG87 series, or if you are on a budget, please have look to the FREE87 series which is based on the same engine.
